Broadband offers many advantages and there are many different offerings from a wide variety of providers. There are essentially two technologies: cable and ADSL; to use cable you need to be in an area wired for cable TV and for ADSL you need to be within a certain radius of the nearest ADSL enabled telephone exchange. We will concentrate on ADSL because as far as cable is concerned, most choices will be determined by your cable provider; however, the advice on equipment is worth noting.
